Adult Volunteer Leaders

We are always looking for Adult Volunteers to help us run what we believe to be and incredibly beneficial program for the youth in our community. This involves role involves working directly with the youth in our community. Please consider one of the following exciting positions:

Beaver Leader Information

Cub Leader Information

Scout Leader Information

Now that you've seen the specifics, let us tell you some of the reasons why we volunteer:

  • We want to give something back to a community we are proud to live in making it a better place for our community's youth.

  • We like to work with and for youth.

  • The friendships we foster in Scouting are like Scouting itself. Global (more than 28 Million members in 216 countries worldwide) and life long.

  • Nothing is more important than the smile and the look of satisfaction on a child or young adult's face when they have accomplished something. Our youth members will learn many new things in the Scouting program and the confidence they gain through such achievements will leave them self-fulfilled and make them stronger citizens of our community, our country, and our world. Whether we are directly delivering the program or helping to administer the group, we all can take credit for this outcome.

  • And comments like this from our parents, "I also wanted to thank you for all your help and of course the other leaders with my child. You especially always made my son feel welcome. I do not think it would have been such a successful year if it was not for you."

  • Don't tell your kids this one .... but .... the adults have more fun than the youth!

All kidding aside, there is some work involved. An adult volunteer can expect to spend between 8 and 14 hours a month working in the program. We think its worth it because of those faces and those smiles.

One Hundred years from now.....It will not matter how large your bank account was. The sort of house you lived in will be unimportant. The car you drove will be rather meaningless in the larger scheme of things. The world could, however, be a very different and better place, one hundred years from now, because you took the time to be important in the life of a child or young adult.

I would be happy to talk to you about the process of becoming an Adult Scouter and encourage you to contact me with any questions you may have.I think you might be glad you did and I know the youth in our community will be.

We are 3rd Meadowvale Scouts. Please come and join us.

We hope to hear from you and we can think of over 100 kids who hope to hear from you too.
